Classes
- Introduction to Argentine Tango, Mondays 7:00-7:30pm at SLO Vets (near the corner
of Grand & Monterey), $5 donation (includes the practice afterward). Everyone
welcome - no partner or experience necessary. No need to wait for the start
of a new series, give it a try this week! Every class will be tailored to
the least experienced in attendance, but all levels are welcome. What we
cover will be a surprise every week.
- Beginning Argentine Tango with Rich, Level I, Tuesdays 8:30-9:30pm
at
Flip Tease Studio,
8850 Morro Rd (Hwy 41 at Portola), Atascadero From Hwy 101 (north or
south), take Hwy 41 toward Morro Bay. It's on the right, second to last building
before the signal at Portola Rd. It's a nice studio with great air conditioning.
No partner or experience necessary.
Eight week progressive series covers essential fundamentals: Posture,
the Embrace, Walking (there's more to it than you might guess! ), Lead/Follow, Connection,
Musicality, Improvisation, "The Cross," "The 8-Count Basic," and turns
(Giro/Molinete & Calesita).
Eight week series is $80 per person or drop-in for $15 per person per class.

- Beginning Argentine Tango with Rich, Level II, Tuesdays 7:30-8:30pm
at
Flip Tease Studio,
8850 Morro Rd (Hwy 41 at Portola), Atascadero From Hwy 101 (north or
south), take Hwy 41 toward Morro Bay.
No partner necessary, uses skills developed in Level I.
Focus is primarily on the remaining basic elements: Ochos (front and back),
turns (Giro/Molinete), Boleos, and Ganchos. Additional topics are
occasionally explored for variety. Series is kept in sync with Level I for
those transitioning.
- Intermediate Argentine Tango with Rich, Tuesdays 7:30-8:30pm
at
Flip Tease Studio,
8850 Morro Rd (Hwy 41 at Portola), Atascadero From Hwy 101 (north or
south), take Hwy 41 toward Morro Bay.
No partner necessary, uses skills developed in Beginning Levels I & II.
All tango elements and combinations
explored either rely on or include those elements from the Beginning
classes. Therefore, one should have a command of those elements before
continuing with this class.
Eight week series is $80 per person, 10 class drop-in card is $125, or drop-in for $15 per person per class.

Practicas
- Mondays 7:30-9:00pm at SLO Vets (near the corner
of Grand & Monterey), $5 donation. Everyone welcome - no partner or
experience necessary. At this supervised practice, work on all elements of
tango from walking, balance, and partnership to adornments, boleos, and
ganchos while dancing to a variety of tango, milonga, and vals.
- Sundays, 6:00-7:30pm, at the famous
Madonna Inn 100 Madonna Rd., San Luis Obispo, no cover, Please patronize
The Inn by purchasing food and/or drink and tips for DJ Nancy are
appreciated.

Milongas
- Third Friday of the month, 7:30-9:30pm, at the Sally Loo's Cafe
1804 Osos St., San Luis Obispo, no cover. Come enjoy the beautiful wood
floor, nice atmosphere, music, dancing, and tasty treats at Sally Loo's.
