There is so much more to Tango than just dancing! Kick off the evening with a free discussion group (chamuyo). Gloria & Eduardo will discuss the music, dance and culture of Tango. Bring your questions and enjoy this informative chat.

Continue the evening with great food, drink, music, and most of all dancing. No cover for this social dancing event at the Higher Groundz Family Coffee House, 3230 Broad St., Suite 130, San Luis Obispo (Broad and Orcutt).

Understanding the beautiful and unique Argentine Waltz.

1:30 – 3:00 pm Understanding the Tango (all Levels welcome)

Musicality, navigation around the dance floor, when to use open or close embrace, connecting with your partner.

Sunday, May 20th

12:00 – 1:30 pm Milonga (all levels)

Apply Tango technique to this fun and upbeat predecessor to Tango.

1:30 – 3:00 pm Technique & Adornments (all levels)

For leaders & followers.

3:30 – 5:00 pm Paradas (Intermediate)

Using stops to interpret the music.

Workshop Classes at Central Coast Dance: 2004 10th St., Los Osos. From Hwy 101 (north or south), exit on Los Osos Valley Rd. Proceed 10 miles Northwest to Los Osos and turn Right on 10th St., continue 2 blocks to Central Coast Dance on the corner of Santa Ynez Ave., above Los Osos Liquor. Please park on the street, because the lot is reserved for convenience store customers.

Cost: $30 per person per class. Register for multiple classes per person and save: 2 for $55, 3 for $75, 4 for $90, or all 5 for $100. One-hour private classes available for $80 per couple, and one-hour semi-private classes for $160 for upto 8 people. The last 15 minutes of each group class will be for practice and/or warm-up for next class. Please try to arrive early so you don’t miss anything.

A special opportunity to enjoy Argentine Culture! "Milonguero Viejo" is proud to announce a special Tango and Folklore presentation by members of the Otero Dance Company. There will be a special Chacarera Class by Gloria Otero, South American snacks, and off course, you can dance all night long! Suggested Contribution: $10.00. No partner necessary. 1715 S. Broadway in Santa Maria, at "The Dance Studio," take the Betteravia exit from the 101 Freeway, go West on Betteravia, North on Broadway, and find the Dance Studio between Smart and Final and Johnson's for Children.
