There is so much more to Tango than just dancing! Kick off the evening with a free discussion group (chamuyo) with Analía Centurión. Get to know her and her perspective on the music, dance, and culture of Tango. Find out about her new book, Shine in Your Tango. Bring your questions and enjoy the evening with this internationally renowned, master instructor from Buenos Aires. She's excited to be back, please come join in.

Continue the evening with a milonga that Analía will DJ before embarking on this weekend of classes. Feel free to bring a snack and/or drink to share. No cover for this social dancing event, and thank you Henlie for hosting us at The Clubhouse in San Luis Bay Estates, 6375 Firehouse Canyon Rd, Avila Beach. Just tell the gate guard you are going to the tango event at the clubhouse.




Saturday, March 22nd at Nexus, San Luis Obispo

11:00 am – 12:30 pm Rebounds, Combinations, and Musicality

This class will cover a variety of sequences with rebotes or cadencias with ochos to express musicality which is fundamentally more important than any step or sequence.

12:30 – 2:00 pm Walks & Stops

Analía will share some favorite walks and stops (paradas) as well as helpful balance exercises. These details will be of value to all levels of dancers.

2:30 – 4:00 pm Boleos!

We will work on techniques of pivoting for both roles that build up to some of Analía's favorite combinations with boleos.


Saturday, March 22nd at Nexus, San Luis Obispo

6:00 – 9:00 pm Milonga (Social Dancing)

Analía will again be our DJ! Feel free to bring a snack and/or drink to share. $10 cover for this social dancing event at Nexus, downstairs in the SLO Public Market, 3845 S. Higuera, San Luis Obispo.

11:00 am – 12:30 pm Sweeps & Turns

We will find functional Barridas (sweeps) and turns as we expand our awareness of each other in our partnership.

12:30 – 2:00 pm Poses and Pauses

Express the drama and passion of Tango Music using some poses and pauses.

2:30 – 4:00 pm Milonga Rhythm

Finish off the weekend on a high note as we discover secrets and tips for the Milonga rhythm exploring musical sequences.

Cost for 90-Minute Group Classes: $35 per person per class. Register for multiple classes at once and save: 2 for $65, 3 for $90, 4 for $110, 5 for $130, or get all 6 for $145. Pre-register online. Discounts only available when purchased together; $35 per class for pay-as-you-go.

The last 15 minutes of each 90-minute class will be for practice and/or warm-up for next class. Please try to arrive early so you don’t miss anything.

Raised and based in Buenos Aires, Analía Centurión is an Argentine dancer and coach, both in tango salon and stage since 1995.

She is an official judge in different instances of the tango world championship (ATUSA and Buenos Aires) as well as in different international events.

She is the author of the tango book focused on followers Shine in your Tango, Amazon's best seller. She is currently finishing her second book.

She studied and perfected herself with great references of tango both salon, pista, and stage.

She danced in large companies, as well as tango shows Cena Show: Complex, Ventana, Piazzola, MADERO TANGO, etc.

She currently tours tango around the world at festivals dancing and teaching. More regularly in North America, Indonesia and Latin America.

She danced in Tango Musicals in the United States and is Co-Organizer of the "Siga el Baile Deluxe" Festival Feb. in Buenos Aires.

She was a 9-time story in New York Times, New Yorker, Clarin: Buenos Aires.
