Great discussion. It would appear that we all value the precious
Tango community we have. Awareness and conscious sensitivity to
everyone's feelings and desires can only enhance our community. How
shall anyone decide the level necessary to enter a certain class?
Sometimes I have taken more advanced classes and done fine, other
times I've been a drag. Occasionally, I've sat on the sidelines
knowing I could have done advanced classes. I've not had the
experience of sitting out and not learning. For me some of the best
learning is watching others.
This Saturday morning as I dance with my most frequent partner, Miss
Mop, I can't seem to get an answer from her about how I'm doing. My
desire is to enhance my interconnection with everyone, in this
instance via a dance form. The intermixing of opportunities to
dance with folks at all levels provided thus far has been excellent.
For me the experience is more personal than academic.
It seems good to have everything out on the table. I value
everyone's commitment. Continued humble mentoring will add to our
group. I will be living in Buenos Aires for a time and look forward
to meeting many people at all levels of dance. Tango at its heart is
a folk dance for social interaction on varied levels of flirtatious
intimacy.
Now it's time for me and Miss Mop to get down.
