SLO Tango -- Reminder, SLO MIlonga, Saturday, Jan. 27

A reminder to SLO Tangueras, Tangueros, and Friends,

Our next SLO Milonga at CC Dance Studio in Los Osos, will be on  
Saturday, January 27, starting at 8:30.

Willow (The Queen of the Gancho) suggested that we occasionally  
feature different orchestras at the beginning of our milongas. So, on  
Saturday, I plan to begin the program featuring the dance music of  
Jose Basso.

Jose Basso began his tango career in 1936, at age 17. Over the years,  
he played piano with some of the leading tango orchestras including  
De Caro and Troilo. In 1947, he formed his own group and became very  
popular playing at Milongas, for radio and television. He made over  
250 recordings. Known as Pepe, he was noted for playing his piano  
while standing and conducting his orchestra.
