SLO Tango -- may days!!

Happy Spring SLO Tango Dance Community,



April is almost here; this, of course, means that May is right around the corner. From Friday May 18 to Monday May 21, two members of the Otero Dance Company will be here. Gloria Otero, director of the dance company, will be instructing with Eduardo Rodriguez, a company dancer. Feel free to follow the link provided for more information: http://gloriatango.com . All details including location, schedule, and costs for workshops & instructional events will be forthcoming. Before that can be determined, I need to get a feeling for how many group privates will be scheduled during the May Otero visit.



Many people emailed me in February stating that they would be interested in taking group privates. As a reminder, these semi-private classes would be $160/hour and involve both instructors working with up to four couples. Rotation is voluntary and partners are required. These provisions allow dancers of all levels (as Norm likes to say) “to spread their wings.” In addition, topics for these classes can be partially influenced or completely determined by the participants who sign up. This feature allows groups to be constructed according to their respective interests.



Having said all that, it would be beneficial to know two things. First, who is ready to confirm interest in a group private with the Otero couple? Second, in which topics are dancers interested? Other details that will need to be addressed soon: Do you need to be partnered? What times and days are you (not) available?



By the way, Norm is very excited about there being a group private on ‘taking the follower off axis’ while Korey & Mila are visiting. That sounds intriguing & worthwhile. In my opinion, it is not too early to be thinking about their visit (mid-June). Thus, at this time, I am happy to record your interests and availability for group privates for both the Otero couple and Kory & Mila.
