hola todos, well I am in my last week in Argentina. It is almost summer and you move slower than before. The roller coaster ride of the changing seasons left me with the flu, which messed up my travel plans but I managed to go to Salta for 4 days. It was very nice, especially in the towns in the desert with the colored rocks and at an altitude of 9000 feet. I met a very nice woman from Cordoba, on one of my excursions, so now another contact yet. I have really enjoyed myself and am very glad of my decision to stay for an extended time. I return a bit poorer, but without regrets. My adventures have had a bit of everything. Despite the climate I came to really like Mendoza and have some very nice friends. I started putting things in my suitcase just to examine if I am going to make it...I bought all my holiday gifts and gifts for my 3 sets of wonderful neigbors who are caring for the house, yard and plants which I am so very grateful. All in all, I say life has
been good. This week I am planning to spend the day at some thermal springs. It has to be arranged, but I think it will happen. It is an hour from Mendoza and it is cooler with a nice breeze. My friend and I have been trying different wines. He comes over to my house whenever he can because he works at a restaurant and has very little time off. We have one bottle left and it is supposed to be the best one. We shall see. I have not been to much tango lately especially because of being sick and traveling. But I have my last 2 lessons this week and 2 milongas to go to. Tonight will be the last time for my folklore class as well. I am hoping that there is still a California left when I return. The fires look devastating and my friends are calling and telling me what they saw on the news. I sure have lived the life of leisure and must say, it suits me well. No rush, no stress, time for the smaller pleasures. I am going to try to keep that in my pocket when I
return. Hope you all enjoy the coming weekend of furious tango events. I plan to come to Cafe Luna on that Saturday. See you all soon. Beth
