Hello there SLO tango dancers,



Christy & Darren will be coming to teach SLO Tango dance community October 26-29. The weekend’s instructional events will be held at Central Coast Dance Studio in Los Osos. Derek will host a Chamuyo & Milonga Friday evening, October 26 at his home in San Luis Obispo. Norm & Anne will host a potluck event Sunday evening, October 28 at their home in Los Osos. In addition, Audrey is organizing an amazing event for Saturday, October 27 that includes “Tango No. 9”playing live at Chumash Auditorium! Mark your calendars and get ready for an incredibly special weekend.



Private instruction: Privates will be scheduled on a per request basis. The location of privates will be determined by the dancers and teachers. If it is necessary to secure studio space, rental fees must be paid by dancers. Keep in mind that scheduling privates on non-weekend days avoids the problem of overbooking our teachers on their busiest instructional days.

a.	Individual privates: $80 per hour per instructor; maximum of one couple per instructor.

b.	Semi-privates: $60 per couple per hour of instruction; led by both instructors; minimum of three couples.



Group classes: We will offer a one-hour “introduction to tango” class for all beginning levels for a set fee of $20. There will be a progressive fee schedule for the remaining six 90-minute group classes over the course of the weekend. Ninety-minute group classes are 75 minutes of instruction and 15 minutes of practice.

a.	Introductory, Beginning-Intermediate, and All Levels group classes do not require partnered dancers and frequent rotation is expected. We will have 4 such group classes.

b.	Intermediate-Advanced group classes strongly recommend partnered dancers and rotation is not expected. We will have 2 such group classes.



Other instructional events: Christy & Darren will lead an “All Levels” review & guided practica ($10) beginning at 7pm on Monday, October 29. The location is SLO Vets Hall on Grand/Monterey. Open practice and dancing ($5) immediately follows. Even if you cannot join us for the review, feel free to join us for open practice and dancing at 9pm.



As always, I will do what I can to facilitate dancers finding partners for the intermediate-advanced classes, if this is necessary. Also, don’t be shy in scheduling a private while the instructors are here. Please communicate with me if you require studio space for your private. Recall that organizing semi-privates is the responsibility of interested and willing participants.
