SLO Tango -- Tonight @ Nexus: Tasting the yumminess of vals 🍨

Hi everyone,

We're halfway through "milonga month", and it's time to switch it up to the
*other *dance style you'll find at the milonga: tango vals! Anne of
TangoSpace describes vals as "yummy"

big caramel ice-cream, with toffee on the top, and cream, and chocolate
chips, and extra cherry sauce." If that doesn't get you hungry for some
vals, I don't know what will.

   - *Style*: Vals
   - *Musicality*: Hearing and dancing the 3-count beat
   - *Technique*: Fluid, lightweight, & circular movement
   - *Steps*: Even 8-count (level 1), uneven 8-count (level 2)
   - *Milonga skills: *Floorcraft

In the experienced class (6:30-7:30), we'll delve into more advanced
versions of everything described above. Levels 1 (7:30-8) and 2 (8-8:30)
will re-focus on basics of vals musicality, adapting the 8-count basic into
vals rhythm. Once again, we'll close the night with a short chat about
milonga etiquette and the 🎶 mini-milonga 🎶 from 8:30-9.

   - *🌊 *Sat 8/23, 6-9pm: Val's monthly milonga in Los Osos (2055 9th St,
   Suite C). *Canceled for this month* since Val is unavailable - join us
   in September!
   - *🔥 Sat 8/30, 7:30-10:30pm: *Hot August Nights milonga @ Derek's house
   (1343 Pismo St., SLO). DJed by Henlie, featuring "orquestas de tango
   actuales" (modern orchestras playing traditional music). No cover, but
   please bring drinks/snacks to share!
   - 🌞* Sun 9/14, 5-8pm: *September edition of the Buen Día milonga, DJed
   collaboratively by myself and Rich. Our music will feature "something for
   everyone", spanning traditional to contemporary.
