Hi everyone,

We had a great time bringing the 🔥drama🔥 last week with Pugliese, and
this week we'll continue exploring expressive dancing with music from
*orquestas
actuales*, modern-day tango orchestras. The goal is to develop our ability
to express all the many dimensions that create dramatic contrast in music,
such as tempo, volume, pitch, instrumentation, timbre, and articulation.
Our ears already know how to hear all this stuff - and we can work to bring
that musical understanding into the rest of the body.

   - *6:30 - 7:30pm: Experienced dancers. *Exploring techniques to develop
expressive range while dancing to modern orchestral music.
   - *7:30 - 8:30pm: Progressive fundamentals*. Same concept, working with
more basic material. Challenge level will increase over the course of the
hour as we progress from fundamentals of walking to turns.
   - *8:30 - 9:00pm: Practilonga. *Practice your skills or just enjoy
dancing to a few mini tandas.

Upcoming events:

   - *👣 Tues 10/21, 7:15-8:45pm: *Practica series at Studio de Myriam
(3563 Sueldo St., Suite N, SLO). $15. Optional exercises, and an open floor
   for practicing.
   - *💃11/21-23: *Save the date for another full weekend of workshops &
   milongas with Christy Coté.

I'm also happy to announce that Marcela Duran, who was originally scheduled
to join us this month, will now teach the weekend of January 9-11!
