SLO Tango -- Thursday @ Nexus: September's focus is embrace & posture 🫂

Hi everyone,

It was so lovely to see and dance with many of you at the milonga this past
Saturday! Kudos & abrazos again to Derek, our host, and Henlie, our DJ.

Now that we've had our fun...it's back to school season! The theme for this
month's classes is *embrace & posture. *We hope that by giving these
fundamentals our full attention, we can help improve all the aspects of our
dancing, whether we're trying to execute complicated sequences or just
trying to achieve the perfect walk. We will also work with various
embraces, including more close embrace for newer dancers 😱 (*you can do
it!)*

Check out tomorrow's first September class schedule below. Note some
changes: we are replacing the "1-2-3 tango" class sequence with a one-hour
class that progresses through those fundamental levels, in order to make
time for a half-hour "practilonga" at the end.

   - *6:30 - 7:30pm: Experienced dancers: *Challenging our balance and
   posture with overturned ochos.
   - *7:30 - 8:30pm: Progressive fundamentals. *Offset walks transitioning
   to ochos. If we're progressing fast, we might cover boleos & enrosques too.
   - *8:30 - 9pm: Practilonga! *Choose your own adventure: use the time to
   work with practice partners / the teacher, or just enjoy dancing to music.


Upcoming events:

   - 🌞* Sun 9/14, 5-8pm: *September edition of the Buen Día milonga, DJed
   collaboratively by myself and Rich. Our music will feature "something for
   everyone", spanning traditional to contemporary.
   - 👠 *Fri Oct 10 - Sun Oct 12: *Save the date for a full weekend with
   special guest instructor ✨ *Marcela Duran* ✨! Derek will be kicking off
   the weekend with another milonga at his house on Friday 10/10. More details
   to come soon at slotango.org / TangoMango.
